The American Red Cross has an
ongoing need for volunteers and continues to evolve as we navigate this
Coronavirus health crisis. Cindy Imperato, Board Chair of the American Red Cross Broward County Chapter, is
widely recognized for her engagements within the Red Cross, as well as the
skills and experience she brings to the organization.
As Cindy Imperato
explains, 90% of the people involved in the Red Cross in the world are
volunteers. During the volunteer work the individual has the opportunity for
personal development and upgrading, professionally and personally. Volunteers
have opportunities to learn and participate in specialized training in various
fields organized by the Red Cross at local, national and international level.
Volunteering is an opportunity
for individuals to be part of a wider social group in the community and to
build new friendships, cooperation and companionship.
Before engaging the volunteer in Red Cross activities, the
individual goes through appropriate orientation training and gets acquainted
with the Red Cross organization, tasks and activities that are implemented at
national and local level.
Are you ready to volunteer with us to help vulnerable people
and make a difference in your community? If so, join us today. We have roles to
suit everyone, no matter how much time you have to give and whatever your
experience.
